It’s Not Me, It’s Booze (INMIB) is a recovery method that supports women to break unhealthy drinking cycles. We use evidence-based practices which allow you to explore who you are, what you want, and discover your power. We see recovery as unique to the individual and we don’t solely focus on alcohol or your relationship with it. Mel finds her clients are often using alcohol to self-medicate because they haven’t recovered from past experiences which is why INMIB sees recovery as a holistic approach. You don’t have to be strictly AF to start your recovery, but you must be curious. We allow you to explore your journey at your own pace with the options of doing our signature “Love Your AF Life” five-week course, a tailored 1:1 recovery plan with Mel or joining our membership for additional support.
The change process can be hard and repetitive but at least INMIB can make it fun!
Mel likes to think of the Alcohol Free journey as a similar experience to peeling an onion. When we have negative experiences we produce layers on top of layers to protect ourselves. Sometimes we have hidden our true selves behind so many layers we don’t even know those layers exist or who we are beneath them. Drinking mindfully or exploring an AF lifestyle allows you to peel back these layers and connect with your true self and values again. This is an incredibly hard process, one that requires the right tools and community in order to do it safely which is where INMIB Members comes in.
Our membership allows you to be your true self in a non-judgemental space. Our crew encourages you to be courageous and vulnerable because we want you to grow and start your healing. We understand that this time can be hard so we give you the best tools available to support your physical and mental growth on this journey and encourage you to have a little fun and feel glamorous as you do so.

Throughout our five week “Love Your AF Life” course you will learn evidence-based theory, self-reflection techniques, and strategies to start changing the way you think of yourself, your relationship with alcohol, and your future.
There’s no one-size-fits-all journey – we have different back-stories and brain chemistry, so your AF experience will be unique to you. I coach women to shift their mindsets so they can feel confident and empowered. It’s not just about alcohol or your relationship with it, it’s about helping you find your true self and breaking toxic cycles along the way.
I’ve been thinking about giving up, or at least having a break from, booze for years. One day I came across the INMIB Instagram and reached out to Mel. She told me about the INMIB AF program and I wasn’t really sure if it was for me or what to expect, but thought I’d give it a go. My biggest worry was staying committed while working full-time shift work as I’d often have a tipple to wind down, which is why the program gave me more than I ever thought it could. I learned valuable lessons about myself that not only helped me ditch alcohol, but also improved my mental health and self esteem – I couldn’t be more thankful. The group support was what really allowed me to realise I’m not alone in this. If you’re sober-curious like I was, then I cannot recommend INMIB enough. You may be surprised at how much you take away from it.
I loved the flow of the INMIB journey: discovering my values, getting down to the nitty gritty about why I established an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, learning how I can create new AF neural pathways, and so much more! Now I feel equipped with so many strategies to support my triggers, FOMO, and attending social events AF! INMIB has empowered me to change my narrative.
I walked away from Mel’s program with new daily habits that have been complete game changers. Getting to know my values and the science behind addiction has put a whole new spin on my sobriety that I didn’t have before. I loved connecting with an awesome group of people from all over Australia too! Highly recommend working with Mel, she makes recovery fun.
The INMIB course was informative and thought-provoking, which helped me build momentum in an alcohol-free life. It was also great to be held accountable and have support from the group. Mel was encouraging and easy to work with and I would definitely recommend.
