It’s Not Me, It’s Booze (INMIB) is a community where you can explore who you are, what you want, and connect with others. The aim of INMIB is to provide a space where there’s no pressure to drink, so you don’t have to be strictly AF to join our crew – just remember, whatever works for you is the way to go! Whether you want to sit down with me 1:1, connect with like-minded people or attend an AF event, INMIB is your one-stop AF shop! Breaking up with booze isn’t easy, but at least I can make it fun!
I’m Mel and I’m a certified Results Coach, have a Bachelor in Business and am currently studying Counselling and Psychotherapy. Now I’m dedicated to helping men and women feel empowered by living an alcohol-free (AF) lifestyle.
How? You might ask, well I believe alcohol is a habit that can be unlearnt. Again, how? Because I did it! I used to be the party girl who went on bingeing benders; many nights of cloudy memories fuelled by liquid courage and mornings of brain-splitting hangovers. Safe to say my decision to break up with booze completely changed my life. But, you know what? Alcohol turned out to be a small part of the problem. It’s not just about wanting to live a life free of alcohol, it’s about LOVING being AF and realising you don’t have to rely on anything but YOU to get your glow and discover the best version of yourself.

I’ve been thinking about giving up, or at least having a break from, booze for years. One day I came across the INMIB Instagram and reached out to Mel. She told me about the INMIB AF program and I wasn’t really sure if it was for me or what to expect, but thought I’d give it a go. My biggest worry was staying committed while working full-time shift work as I’d often have a tipple to wind down, which is why the program gave me more than I ever thought it could. I learned valuable lessons about myself that not only helped me ditch alcohol, but also improved my mental health and self esteem – I couldn’t be more thankful. The group support was what really allowed me to realise I’m not alone in this. If you’re sober-curious like I was, then I cannot recommend INMIB enough. You may be surprised at how much you take away from it.
I loved the flow of the INMIB journey: discovering my values, getting down to the nitty gritty about why I established an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, learning how I can create new AF neural pathways, and so much more! Now I feel equipped with so many strategies to support my triggers, FOMO, and attending social events AF! INMIB has empowered me to change my narrative.
I walked away from Mel’s program with new daily habits that have been complete game changers. Getting to know my values and the science behind addiction has put a whole new spin on my sobriety that I didn’t have before. I loved connecting with an awesome group of people from all over Australia too! Highly recommend working with Mel, she makes recovery fun.
The INMIB course was informative and thought-provoking, which helped me build momentum in an alcohol-free life. It was also great to be held accountable and have support from the group. Mel was encouraging and easy to work with and I would definitely recommend.
The opportunity to be part of this group was amazing! I’ve learnt a bunch of great strategies I can apply to all areas of my life, not just drinking. It’s been awesome getting to know everyone and I feel pretty confident in saying I’ve made some lasting friendships here.
